Message from the Superintendent

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the communities of Lee and Tyringham.  It has been a wonderful couple of weeks getting acclimated to the district.  I have spent time in classrooms, meeting with students and staff, and getting immersed in the activities that define our schools and communities.  Of note are the extraordinary students and staff.  Their commitment to excellence and success is readily apparent in the instructional spaces and in public, too!  The Lee Public Schools provide all students with access to a rigorous and challenging educational experience cultivated through the formation of meaningful relationships.

The next couple of months are riddled with activities.  Included among them is the administration of MCAS.  I encourage all families to remember a few things as testing rolls around.  Please encourage students to get a good night’s rest, to eat well-balanced meals, and to include some physical activity in their daily regimine.

The success of our schools is dependent on active and appropriate engagement by all stakeholders.  To that end, I encourage you to seek out ways to be involved in any number of ways, including: coaching, tutoring, volunteering, chaperoning, or joining our district as an employee.

Thank you for welcoming me to Lee and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

All the best,

Michael J. Richard
